Christian Bale made an appearance in Aurora today, visiting the survivors of the shooting, thanking the medical and police staff for their efforts, and paying respects to the 12 crosses outside of the theater. He appeared in street clothes, with his wife, with little fanfare. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Bale. There is lots of coverage of his visit, but one quote stuck with me from Janie Bowman-Hayes, assistant vice president of surgical services at Swedish Medical Center. She helped victims at both Swedish Medical Center and The Medical Center of Aurora after the shootings:
“He did this out of his heart, and you could really tell. It was so sincere. It was just, ‘Thank you.'”
